Avondale is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team at our Head Office in Paarl.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid practical accounting experience who understands the full accounting and finance process. Responsibilities include processing and issuing invoices, debtors and creditors, reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with management accounts and financial reporting, preparing accounts to trial balance, payments and supporting external audits.

To be considered, applicants must:

• Reside in the Paarl area
• Have previous experience working as an Accountant, preferably 2–5 years
• Have practical experience with Pastel and Excel
• Understand the full accounting and finance process
• Be accurate, organised and able to work to deadlines
• Have strong numerical, problem-solving and communication skills

A diploma in accounting or relevant post-matric accounting qualification would be advantageous. The role requires someone who shows initiative, works accurately, manages pressure well and can be relied upon to take ownership of their responsibilities.
